After what seemed like years waiting for his call to come in the mail, Sam received his mission call on a Wednesday afternoon. We were unable to open it until his Dad could be here when he returned home on Friday, April 22nd after working for the week in Montana. We invited everyone near and dear to us to share in this moment and everyone near and far took turns writing a guess as to where he might be called to serve for the next two years. He threatened not to tell us where he was going - and he delivered! He kept up the suspense as you can see in the video below. Stinker! After his playful antics, he finally spilled the beans and we learned he is to labor in the Marshall Islands Majuro Mission in the Kiribati Region speaking Kiribati! We never would have guessed the Lord would send our son to the other side of the world to a remote land, away from the comforts of home to serve a people we had never heard of. We are so grateful! Our hearts were very full that night. Full of the love of our Savior who knew a mother's heart and secret prayers that he would be in a relatively safe place and be able to serve people who would love and take care of him. We all felt the confirming peace of the spirit of the Holy Ghost witnessing to us that this indeed was precisely where the Lord needs Sam to labor in the vineyard. Our hearts were full of gratitude for the outpouring of support and love of family and friends. We know this will buoy him up in times of hardship and trials. Most of all, our hearts were filled with joy. Pure, simple joy in so many things. God is good. God is in the details of our lives. God is at the helm.

Belief is the reason we go on a mission. It is the motive for preaching about Christ and sharing/Proclaiming his love. Faith is understanding we are children of God and our Heavenly Father. May the definition of faith bless you in life Faith is defined again and because faith has an inherent joy it gives us a solid foundation that we finally have the peace we have been searching for.
